The Data & BI team is responsible for all topics related to data analytics, data science, data engineering and web engineering. All of these areas are interlinked as without engineering there is no data and with no data, there is no analytics or science!
-
Data Engineering is the practice of designing, building, and maintaining systems for collecting, storing, and processing large volumes of data. It focuses on creating reliable data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure data is clean, accessible, and ready for analysis or machine learning applications. All of the data used in our booking system as other supporting systems is collected and processed into our datalake Minerva.
-
Web Engineering involves designing and implementing web tracking processes to collect user interaction data from our EWH website. It focuses on capturing website metrics like page views, clicks, and user behavior to support analytics, personalization, and performance optimization. We additionally help in the implementation of third party pixels and tracking tools (e.g. Exactag, Meta, Google).
-
Data Analytics involves examining our booking and web data as well as market data to uncover patterns, trends and insights to support decision making. Our main tools are Power BI and Google Analytics.
-
Data Science is the practice of using data, algorithms, and statistical methods to uncover insights and make predictions. Key areas of focus are the creation of our budgets/forecasts and dynamic pricing.
Overall, the Data & BI Team works together to gather data from various sources and transform it into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
