Getting a doctors appointment in Germay
Sometimes it is neccessary to see a doctor. Here, we would like to give you some tips on how to get an appointment with the doctors quickly

Ways to get an appointment at the doctors in Germany
Calling
Most of the German residents call the doctor to arrange an appointment. Especially if you need to see the doctor on short notice this might be the fastest an easiest way to get an appointment, When calling the doctor, you can already explain your situation as well as potential symptoms. Most of the doctors will allow you to come by on the same day. However, it might be neccessary to bring some waiting time

Many doctors (but by far not all) use the App called "Doctolib" for appointment scheduling. Just download the App on your smartphone, create your personal account and you are ready to go. Via the App you can book appointments for all kind of doctors. Moreover, after scheduling an appointment, you can also postpone it later on. Even a cancellation is possible. Futhermore, you can also upload certain documents that might be relevant for the doctor.
However, please keep in mind that some doctors that are listed on Doctolib only treat privately insured people or people that are willing to pay for the medical treatment with their own money (so no coverage from a public health insurance like TK, AOK, DAK or BARMER). If in doubt, please call the doctor to check upfront if they will accept your insurance!
